Is cheaper better?

We had a gentleman that normally cuts his own hair or go to a chain shop for the 5.99 price. He was very pleased with his service as well as the haircut he received at Urban Kutz. When he found out the 20.00 price he was very shocked. According to him it was extremely high as he had not been to a REAL BARBERSHOP in 20 years. We explained to him that our price was the normal market rate and if he would have gone to any other barbershop it would have been the same or in that range. He admitted that the haircut was much better than his DIY cut and much much better than the chain cut. This is a prime example of you get what you pay for. We could not understand why he was in shock because nothing is the same price as it was twenty years ago . It is easy to understand a person going the cheap route on some things but not on your appearance .People work hard for their money and should definitely show it in how they look. We do realize that a REAL professional haircut is a luxury and not a necessity and many people can not afford it. This is why they have barber colleges which is what we suggest over going to a chain shop. It is a  toss up on you getting a good cut but our money would go on a barber student in a bet.Chain shops ONLY HIRE STYLISTS NOT BARBERS that give you exactly what you pay for. We always look forward to seeing the people that rush in to Urban Kutz Barbershop after the chain shop has gave them a botch job. So is cheaper better?

Another great year

   Cleveland their is an upcoming mayoral race. We realize that we need a lot of things done to and for our city however things have got a lot better in recent years. At Urban Kutz Barbershop we are very fortunate to have new comers to Cleveland in both of our locations very often and the majority of these new residents are here because of work. Sometimes it is a job transfer and other times it is a new position.Regardless of how these people arrived they are welcome because they will help our economy. FYI when we ask these new Cleveland transplants how do they like it here 99.9% of them say they love it and it is nothing like what they were told.                                                                            We want you to make the best choice to keep our great city upwardly mobile. It feels like this will be another great year for us in many different areas.Lets keep welcoming these new comers and please support your local small businesses as they make up a tremendous part of the character of Cleveland.We are proud of The Land .At Urban Kutz we rep The Land till we die.

   Cleveland is Cleveland some things will change about it and some things will remain the same. We are so proud of the things that Cleveland has done to make it more appealing to new comers. We definitely see the fruits of this cities labor. New people from all over the United States and even the world come into both of our barbershop locations and they all say they love Cleveland. This always brings us joy when people say kind things about our city.
   This was not always the case though .Six plus years ago when the economy took a turn for the worst people were leaving Cleveland at an alarming rate. CNN stated that Cuyahoga County was the fastest shrinking county in the United States during this time.We watched business after business close down. Our weekly clients went from weekly to monthly or not coming any more at all.We are very blessed to survive this terrible era in U.S history. Now we are definitely on the up swing.
  So things are better with the changes that are being made and we are pleased but like it aforementioned some things we can not change. DEAR NEW CLEVELANDERS  WE CAN NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE WEATHER. This is a common topic from our friends especially from the south. Some guys from Miami asked us how can we live here in the winter.They actually said Cleveland in the winter is reverse hell. It is what it is we just smile our way through it
